HSM Mill 3D - 2 Days

Training Dates
  • HSMWorks: Tuesday, September 26 and Wednesday, September 27
  • Inventor HSM: Wednesday September 20 and Thursday September 21; Wednesday, October 18 and Thursday, October 19
  • Fusion 360: Wednesday, October 25 and Thursday, October 26

This online course is designed to assist HSM users in learning the user interface, how to create a job for containing different toolpath strategies, defining work coordinate systems, tool libraries, stock simulation, setup sheets, and posting g-code.

Course Objectives:
Day one covers 2D prismatic toolpath functions with focus on toolpath boundary control, tolerances, compensation, tool libraries, setup sheets, stock simulation and post processing.
The second day focus is on 3D roughing/finishing toolpath strategies, tool plane selection, CAD model revision and toolpath integration, tool holder/collision detection, with focus on automatic toolpath generation through building strategic templates that can be deployed on any CAD model. Classes will be held at 9AM-4:30PM ET on both days.

This online course is intended for HSM lathe users. This class covers all aspects of HSM lathe and mill/turn functionality. Items covered include roughing, finishing, facing, grooving, threading, drilling, configuration, tool and material libraries, and parting.

Fusion Mill 3D Class - 2 Days

FeatureCAM and PowerMill Courses

FeatureCAM Essentials - 3 Days

FeatureCAM is offered in a modular fashion and the training course is outlined to compliment this. Whether the user is using just the 2D version or the more sophisticated 5 Axis multi-turret B axis Lathes with live tooling, the training course is modular in the same fashion. Since some programmers demand the very most amount of automation for standard pocketing, profiling, and drilling, while other require more specific 3D or diverse setups while still maintaining the quick automation that FeatureCAM offers, our classes accommodate these very specific and demanding requirements.

Classes are held from 9am-4:30pm ET on all days.

PowerShape Essentials

PowerShape Essentials Covers a variety of topics from navigating the user interface to complete wireframe 2D and 3D modeling; as well as 3D Surface creation and modelling, including surface manipulation for design to manufacturing needs or model repair due to poor data export from suppliers host CAD system. With the adaptation of Direct Modeling and Parasolid based Solids in PowerShape we also cover the fundamentals of these features as well. Providing a diverse and robust understanding of the product from design, data manipulation, data repair, solid modelling, and the fundamentals of “Design for Manufacturing” which is the discipline of model editing to ease the programming of user supplied data that may not be representative of the data required to program each part efficiently.

PowerMill Essentials

PowerMill Essentials covers the fundamentals of CAM programming, from importing CAD data through post processing G Code. This training course will allow even the most beginner to offline CAM Programming to fully program a simple 2D wireframe program including drilling, through complex 3D Models. Since PowerMILL strictly focuses on Mill programming, the entire training course deals strictly with these processes, allowing for a very short learning curve.

Classes are held 9am-4:30pm ET on all days.
